Yes
- I have accessed the Student Handbook
(found in the Student Area of this website or

)
and agree to the terms and conditions within it, including these extracted sections below:
The following are key extracts only from the EM INSTITUTE Student Handbook. Students must always refer to the full policies and procedures from Student Handbook.
Policies and Procedures
Students are required to abide by all the policies and procedures as outlined in the Student Handbook, available on the website and that may be amended from time to time.
Course Credit
Any prospective student may apply for credit for study they have completed previously. You can find further information in Course Credit application forms or by contacting EM INSTITUTE.
Course fees
Course Fees outlined at the time of enrolment are the only fees required to complete a course and gain the qualification. This is subject to the student completing their course as per the original enrolment and course conditions. Course fees are non-transferable to other students. The student may be offered a ‘subscription payment plan’ to pay for course fees. This is typically an initial payment followed by smaller series of regular payments until the total amount of the course is paid for. With a subscription payment plan the student is responsible for ensuring no default on the agreed payment plan. In the event a student decides to cancel a course, the student either i) self-cancels the remaining subscription payments with no further monies owing if they are able to directly on the payment gateway used by the RTO or ii) giving the RTO no less than 7 working days notice in writing, request the RTO to cancel the remaining subscription payments with no further monies owing. All qualifications must be paid in full for them to be issued to a student and EM INSTITUTE reserves the right to cancel a student’s enrolment in the case of a default of course fee payment.
Additional Fees
Additional fees may be applicable during the course of your studies and outlined in the Student Handbook.
Student Responsibilities Students must follow the full policies and procedures as outlined and updated in the Student Handbook.
Students need to inform at the time of enrolling if they have any special learning needs to allow EM Institute to determine if these can be accommodated. Special learning needs may include language, literacy, numeracy and disability special needs. Students must observe time limits for courses and qualifications and complete courses and qualifications within such times. Students are requested to report any issues or dissatisfaction of training service immediately, allowing EM INSTITUTE to rectify this situation if required. Students must be 18 years old or over.
Refunds
Please note, we aim to make the information on refunds as simple and clear as possible. If you feel you do not understand this information we invite you to contact us for additional explanation.
Students paying by subscription payment plan: The subscription payment plan allows the student to enjoy a “pay as you go” model of service. These payments are used toward the ongoing costs to establish and maintain the student’s enrolment in a course. Hence no refund can be given on course fee amounts already paid on subscription payment plan. Students paying in full for a course: If a student has paid for a course, in full, then they may seek a refund. The amount of refund eligible is then calculated as the amount paid less non-refundable enrolment fee less $200 per week the student has been enrolled in the course. For example, a student has paid $1,000 for a course and asks for a refund after 2 weeks. The refund eligible would be calculated as $1,000 less enrolment fee less $400 (2 weeks X $200). Any student request for a refund must be made in writing and will be processed as per refund policy in Student Handbook.
Cancellations
Cancellation requests must be made in writing and are subject to the applicable refund policy.
RTO Responsibilities
The RTO is self governed by the full policies and procedures as outlined and updated in the Student Handbook. These responsibilities include but not limited to i) Provide quality training and assessment ii) Comply with the Standards for RTOs 2015 and iii) Issue AQF certification to students who are qualified
Disclaimer
The student will release and hold harmless EM INSTITUTE, its Director, staff, trainers and agents in respect to any property loss or personal injury that may be sustained whilst participating in their course or attending the college or training venue of EM INSTITUTE whosoever caused. •Every attempt is made to ensure all information from EM INSTITUTE is accurate and that the student has attained the competencies taught in a course, at the point of their assessment. Beyond this point, the graduate is responsible to maintain their acquired competencies, and apply acquired knowledge and skills in a way which is appropriate to the unique characteristics of each application. Any other matter not specifically mentioned in the above Terms & Conditions is at the discretion of EM INSTITUTE.
